About Ad Clanker
A proper video ad used to mean a $3,000 invoice from an agency, a film crew booking your calendar for a Tuesday, and a two-week wait to see a rough cut. That math never worked for a small business owner who just needs a 15-second ad for Instagram this week. So we built a way to skip all of it: paste your website URL in, and about four minutes later you have a finished, UGC-style video ad (script, voice, an AI actor, and a scene) ready to post.
Why we built this
Most small businesses don't have a marketing department. They have an owner who answers the phones, does the books, and now also has to figure out how to compete with national brands running polished video ads on every feed their customers scroll. Hiring an agency for a single ad is a rounding error for a chain, and completely unworkable for a one-person shop. We think that gap (between “I need a video ad” and “I can afford a video ad”) shouldn't exist anymore. The tools finally exist to close it: a large language model can write a punchy 15-second script, a voice model can perform it, and an image and video model can shoot the scene. Ad Clanker wires those pieces together into one product, so a business owner gets what used to take a crew and a budget out of a URL and a few clicks.
How it's made
Ad Clanker is built by one founder working alongside several large language models. We are not shy about that, and we don't think you should have to guess. The site literally says it in the footer: “made by one human and several large language models.” The ads you generate are AI-made too, start to finish: an AI writes the script, an AI voice performs it, and an AI actor delivers it on camera in a scene that AI composited. We call this “clankers, on purpose.” We're not pretending a human crew shot your ad, and we're not pretending the actor is a real person. What we do care about is that the finished video looks and feels like real phone-shot UGC: handheld, a little imperfect, shot in a real-looking place. Not a glossy, over-lit, obviously-synthetic “AI ad.” The goal is an ad your customers would scroll past without a second thought, because it looks like the kind of video a real person actually posts.
What we stand for
- No crew, no camera, no retainer. You don't need to hire anyone, schedule a shoot, or sign a monthly agency contract to get a video ad out the door.
- Honest about the AI. Every actor, voice, and scene in your ad is generated. We say so plainly, and our AI disclosure guide exists to help you stay compliant when you post, not to help you hide it.
- Looks like UGC, not like an ad. The whole design goal is a video that reads as a real person talking to camera, not a cinematic commercial.
- One-click cancel. No retention calls, no “are you sure” mazes. If Ad Clanker stops being useful to you, cancelling should take one click, same as it took one click to start.
- Small and accountable. There's no support queue disappearing into a ticketing system run by a team you'll never talk to. It's a small operation, and if something breaks, a real person (the one building it) is the one who fixes it.
If that sounds like the kind of tool you wish existed the last time you needed a video ad and didn't have $3,000 or three weeks to spare, give it a try. Paste your website URL, pick an actor, and see your first ad in a few minutes. Get started.
